Product Overview
The In-situ Lithium Metal Dendrite Observation Cell is a research-grade optical electrochemical platform purpose-built for real-time visualization of lithium deposition, stripping, and dendrite evolution under controlled electrochemical conditions.
Designed to simulate Li-ion / Li-metal battery operation, C031-5 enables direct optical access to the electrode–electrolyte interface through a high-transmittance sapphire window, allowing researchers to correlate electrochemical signals with physical dendrite growth behavior.
This cell is widely used in lithium metal anode research, SEI evolution studies, electrolyte screening, and safety-oriented failure analysis, where seeing dendrites matters as much as measuring them.

Structural Design & Electrochemical Architecture
Two-Electrode Configuration
Working electrode (Li metal or planar metal sheet)
Counter electrode (user-defined)
•Optimized for Li deposition / stripping visualization
•Compatible with standard potentiostats and battery testers
Direct Optical Access
Sapphire optical window
•Optical transmittance > 95%
•Enables real-time microscopy or camera-based observation
•Ideal for dendrite nucleation and propagation tracking
Planar Electrode Geometry
•Supports 10 × 10 mm planar electrodes
•Uniform current distribution
•Clear, unobstructed view of active area

Materials & Sealing Integrity
Cell Body / Conductive Base
High-purity titanium
•Excellent chemical resistance to lithium electrolytes
•High mechanical rigidity and electrical conductivity
•Minimal background interference for optical imaging
Optical Window
•Sapphire glass
•High hardness, scratch resistance, and chemical stability
•Suitable for long-term cycling experiments
Assembly
•Compact, robust construction
•Designed for repeatable assembly and disassembly
•Easy cleaning between experiments

Key Advantages
True Operando Dendrite Visualization Observe lithium dendrite nucleation, growth direction, and morphology as it happens—not post-mortem.
• Battery-Relevant Geometry Planar electrode format closely mimics real lithium metal anodes used in next-generation batteries.
• High Optical Clarity Sapphire window with > 95% transmittance ensures sharp imaging under optical microscopes.
• Chemically & Mechanically Stable Titanium construction tolerates aggressive electrolytes and repeated cycling.
• Simple, Reproducible Setup Two-electrode architecture minimizes complexity while maximizing experimental reliability.
