Product Overview

CeTech Carbon Paper Gas Diffusion Layers (GDL) are high-performance carbon fiber-based materials designed for efficient gas transport, electron conduction, and water management in electrochemical energy systems.
The CeTech GDL series is manufactured using high-strength carbon fiber paper as the substrate, combined with a hydrophobic microporous layer (MPL) and uniform PTFE treatment.
This structure provides excellent electrical conductivity, gas diffusivity, mechanical strength, and chemical stability.
CeTech GDLs are widely used in fuel cells, water electrolysis, metal–air batteries, and various gas diffusion electrochemical systems, offering stable and reproducible performance for laboratory research and industrial development.

Key Features

• High-strength carbon fiber paper substrate
• Hydrophobic microporous layer (MPL) coating
• Uniform PTFE treatment for effective water management
• Low interfacial contact resistance
• Excellent gas diffusion performance
• High chemical corrosion resistance
• Suitable for long-term electrochemical operation

Typical Applications

• Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC)
• Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFC)
• Water Electrolysis for Hydrogen Production
• Hydrogen sensors and electrochemical gas devices
• Metal–air batteries (Zn–air, Al–air, etc.)
• Gas diffusion electrodes (GDE) systems
• Electrochemical gas separation and transport studies

Handling & Usage Guidelines

• Always wear clean gloves when handling carbon paper to prevent contamination from oil or sweat, which may affect hydrophobic performance.
• Cutting is recommended using sharp blades or laser cutting to avoid carbon fiber fraying.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to strong acids, strong alkalis, or open flame at high temperature.
• During fuel cell or electrolyzer assembly, ensure intimate contact between carbon paper and catalyst layer to minimize contact resistance.

Storage & Transportation

• Store in a clean, dry, and dust-free environment. • Recommended storage temperature: 5–30 °C • Relative humidity: < 60% • Avoid compression, folding, or bending to prevent cracks or performance degradation. • Keep unused materials sealed in original packaging after opening.
