Double-Junction Saturated Calomel Reference Electrode, Neutral

Low-Chloride, High-Stability Reference Electrode for Sensitive Aqueous Electrochemistry
The FrankLab Double-Junction Saturated Calomel Reference Electrode (Neutral) is engineered for experiments that demand a highly stable reference potential with minimal chloride contamination. Its dual-junction architecture, neutral KCl electrolyte, and high borosilicate glass construction make it ideal for chloride-sensitive electrocatalysis, transition-metal chemistry, CO₂RR, corrosion analysis, and long-term measurements requiring low drift and low noise.

Key Features

• Double-Junction Design for Superior Contamination Control

The intermediate salt chamber prevents direct interaction between the test electrolyte and the internal KCl reservoir:
  • Significantly reduces chloride leakage
  • Protects chloride-sensitive systems
  • Ensures long-term potential stability
  • Ideal for multi-hour or multi-day chronoamperometry and EIS

• Neutral KCl Internal Electrolyte

A neutral chloride concentration provides:
  • Improved compatibility with metals and metal-ion chemistry
  • Reduced interference in CO₂RR and ORR studies
  • More stable potential in low-ionic-strength environments
Typical reference potential: ~ +0.250 V vs. NHE at 25°C

• Constructed with High Borosilicate Glass

All FrankLab glass reference electrodes use premium high borosilicate glass, selected for:
  • Excellent thermal shock resistance
  • Strong chemical durability in acids, bases, and solvents
  • Smooth surfaces that minimize contamination and simplify cleaning
  • Long-term structural stability in laboratory environments
This ensures reproducibility and reliability across demanding electrochemical experiments.

• Low Drift, Low Noise, High Stability

  • Stable Hg/Hg₂Cl₂ calomel reference system
  • Low impedance and low junction potential
  • Smooth baseline performance for CV, LSV, EIS

• Broad Electrolyte Compatibility

Highly recommended for:
  • CO₂ reduction in near-neutral media
  • Metal dissolution & corrosion studies
  • ORR / HER / OER testing in chloride-limited environments
  • Biological and environmental electrochemistry
  • Sensitive transition-metal catalytic systems
