Product Description
Product Overview
The FrankLab Five-Port Electrochemical Cell is a versatile, high-performance reaction vessel engineered for RDE/RRDE studies, CO₂RR/O₂RR, electrocatalysis, corrosion testing, and gas–liquid electrochemistry. Available in single-layer and double-layer (water bath) versions, this cell supports temperature-controlled experiments, gas bubbling/purging, sampling, and multi-electrode configurations.
1. Five-Port Modular Design
| Port Function | Description |
| Working Electrode Port | Accepts rod electrodes or RDE/RRDE (fits your GC/Pt/Au disks). |
| Counter Electrode Port | Typically Pt wire/mesh or graphite rod. |
| Reference Electrode Port | Standard 19# or 24# taper; compatible with Ag/AgCl, Hg/HgO, SCE, etc. |
| Gas Inlet (F-type Tube) | For bubbling, saturating, or purging (N₂ / Ar / CO₂). |
| Sampling / Outgas / Additional WE Port | Can be used for solution sampling or auxiliary electrodes. |
2. Single-Layer vs Double-Layer Options
| Version | Key Advantage | Typical Application |
| Single-Layer | Cost-efficient; ideal for ambient-temperature electrochemistry | ORR, CO₂RR, HER/OER |
| Double-Layer | Supports water bath heating/cooling (0–80 °C) | Kinetics studies, temperature-controlled catalysis |
3. High Chemical Durability
4. Full Electrode Compatibility
5. Precision Sealing System
| Port | Size |
| Working Electrode Port | 24# (fits RDE/RRDE) |
| Reference Electrode Port | 19# |
| Counter Electrode Port | 19# |
| Gas Inlet (F-type) | Ground taper or hose connector |
| Sampling Port | 19# or custom |
