H-Type Sealed Quartz Optical Electrochemical Cell

H-Type Sealed Quartz Optical Electrochemical Cell

Product Description
Shipping & Delivery
Product Overview
The FrankLab H-Type Sealed Quartz Optical Electrochemical Cell is a dual-compartment, optically accessible electrochemical reactor designed for spectroelectrochemistry and photo-electrochemical studies. This high-performance cell allows for in-situ measurements using UV-Vis, Raman, and IR spectroscopy, ideal for operando spectroscopy experiments. The single-layer configuration of this cell offers 125 mL capacity per chamber and is designed for applications such as CO₂ reduction reactions (CO₂RR), photo-electrochemical water splitting, and membrane-separated electrocatalysis.
The H-type design enables separate half-reactions with independent gas control for each chamber, minimizing product crossover and ensuring high-quality data collection.
Key Features
Single-Layer Configuration:
125 mL per chamber
Ideal for basic electrochemical reactions that require optical access for in-situ spectroscopic measurements.
Optical Access:
Integrated glass optical port for UV-Vis, Raman, and IR spectroscopy measurements in the reaction zone without disturbing the electrochemical setup.
Independent Gas Control:
Gas inlet and outlet per chamber for CO₂, N₂, O₂, or Ar purging.
Allows for independent gas purging and controlled environments for each half-reaction.
Modular Electrodes:
Compatible with a variety of electrodes, including glassy carbon, platinum, gold, and Ag/AgCl reference electrodes.
Custom options available for optical thin-layer electrodes.
Membrane Interface:
Flat membrane clamping zone suitable for Nafion, AEM, or CEM membranes.

How to Use
1.Handling & Assembly:
Wear gloves to avoid contamination.
Use sharp blades or laser cutting to cut the materials to prevent fiber damage.
2.Electrochemical Setup:
•Ensure proper sealing between the carbon paper and the catalyst layer to reduce contact resistance.
Calibrate for gas purging and optical measurements before starting experiments.

Storage & Transportation
1.Storage Conditions:
•Store in a dry, dust-free environment.
Temperature: 5°C–30°C, Relative Humidity: <60%.
2.Handling:
•Avoid pressure, folding, or rolling to prevent damage.
Re-seal unused carbon paper in its original packaging to preserve its quality.
