Product Overview
The FrankLab In-situ Infrared Spectroelectrochemical Cell Series is a research-grade operando platform designed for real-time infrared (IR) spectroscopy during electrochemical reactions.
Engineered for ATR, external reflection, and transmission IR modes, this system enables direct observation of adsorbed intermediates, interfacial species, and reaction pathways under precisely controlled electrochemical and gas environments.
With a PEEK chemical-resistant body, CaF₂ infrared window, and ultra-thin liquid layer (0.5 mm), the cell is optimized for high signal-to-noise IR measurements in electrocatalysis, corrosion, electrochemical interfaces, and energy materials research.

Measurement Modes & Architectures
Infrared ATR (Attenuated Total Reflection)
•Internal reflection (IFA-1)
•External reflection (IFA-2)
•Ideal for surface-adsorbed species and interfacial chemistry
•Compatible with H-type ion-exchange membrane configurations
Infrared Transmission Mode
•Direct IR beam transmission through CaF₂ window
•Suitable for solution-phase intermediates
•Optimized for thin-layer electrochemical IR analysis

Electrochemical Configuration
Standard Electrode Setup
Working electrode (WE): Platinum mesh
Counter electrode (CE): Platinum electrode
Reference electrode (RE): Platinum electrode
✔ Stable, noble-metal configuration minimizes parasitic IR absorption
✔ Suitable for acidic, neutral, and alkaline electrolytes
✔ Fully compatible with potentiostats and spectrometers
