In-situ XRD Electrochemical Cell

In-situ XRD Electrochemical Cell

Product Description
Shipping & Delivery
Product Overview
The FrankLab In-situ XRD Electrochemical Cell is a precision-engineered electrochemical reactor designed for real-time X-ray diffraction (XRD) characterization of electrode materials during electrochemical operation.
By positioning the working electrode directly beneath an X-ray transparent window, this cell enables operando monitoring of phase transitions, lattice evolution, crystallinity changes, and reaction-induced structural dynamics under applied potential or current.
Unlike conventional electrochemical cells, this platform is optimized for low absorption, short beam path, and minimal parasitic scattering, making it suitable for laboratory XRD systems and synchrotron beamlines.

Structural Design & Measurement Concept
True In-situ XRD Geometry
•Working electrode (WE) positioned directly below the X-ray window
•X-ray beam passes vertically through the window onto the electrode surface
•Reflected / diffracted signal collected without cell disassembly
Low-Loss Optical Path
Ultra-short WE-to-window distance (< 6 mm) minimizes beam attenuation
•Optimized chamber depth reduces electrolyte absorption and background noise
Compact, Symmetric Cell Architecture
•Square, rigid body minimizes mechanical drift
•Uniform compression ensures stable electrode positioning during long scans

Materials & Construction
Cell Body
•High-purity PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)
•Reinforced with high-purity titanium components
•Chemically resistant to acidic, alkaline, and organic electrolytes
X-ray Window
Polyimide (PI) window (standard)
•Excellent X-ray transparency
•Low background scattering
•High mechanical flexibility
Alternative window materials available on request (e.g., Kapton® variants)
