Ir–Ta Titanium Mesh Electrode | FrankLab

Product Overview

The FrankLab Ir–Ta Titanium Mesh Electrode is a high-performance MMO anode engineered for extreme durability, outstanding oxygen evolution efficiency, and long-term operation in harsh chemical environments.

This electrode features a titanium mesh substrate coated with a mixed metal oxide layer of Iridium and Tantalum (Ir–Ta MMO). This coating delivers exceptional catalytic activity and chemical stability—significantly extending electrode lifespan compared to noble-metal-coated electrodes.

Ir–Ta/Ti mesh electrodes are widely used in:

•Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER)

•Chlorine Evolution Reaction (CER)

•Electro-oxidation for wastewater treatment

•Industrial electrolysis

•High-current-density research

•Electrochemical synthesis

Each electrode is built from:

•Titanium Mesh (Grade 1 or Grade 2)

•Ir–Ta MMO Coating

•PTFE Electrode Rod

•Gold-Plated Copper Terminal

Optional diagonal reinforcement improves rigidity for larger mesh sizes or flow cells.

Key Features

• Ir–Ta Mixed Metal Oxide Coating (MMO)

Ultra-long lifetime under high anodic potentials

Very high catalytic efficiency for OER & CER

Resistant to oxidative degradation

Less expensive than pure platinum while providing superior durability

Customizable Ir/Ta ratio and coating thickness

• Titanium Mesh Substrate

Extremely corrosion-resistant

Lightweight and mechanically strong

Excellent electrolyte access due to open mesh geometry

Compatible with high-flow and high-turbulence cells

Available with or without reinforcement

• Optional Diagonal Reinforcement

Enhances rigidity

Prevents deformation under flow or high current

Recommended for mesh ≥ 25×25 mm

• PTFE Electrode Rod

Fully chemically inert

Maintains electrode geometry

Suitable for aggressive electrolytes and hot environments

• Gold-Plated Copper Terminal (FrankLab Standard)

Provides stable, low-resistance electrical contact

Corrosion-proof

Compatible with all standard potentiostat connections
