Multifunctional In-Situ Electrochemical Cell

Multifunctional In-Situ Electrochemical Cell

Product Description
Shipping & Delivery
Product Overview
The Multifunctional In-Situ Electrochemical Flow Cell is a research-grade, modular electrochemical platform engineered for real-time electrochemical, spectroscopic, and structural characterization under controlled flow conditions.
Designed around a replaceable front-window architecture and a serpentine flow channel, this cell allows researchers to seamlessly switch between Raman, UV–Vis, XRD, XAFS, and optical microscopy without redesigning the electrochemical core.
Unlike conventional fixed-window cells, this platform decouples electrochemical functionality from optical interface selection, enabling one base cell to support multiple in-situ techniques with high reproducibility.

Core Architecture
Modular Flow-Cell Design
•Electrolyte enters the chamber via the reference electrode inlet
•Flows across the working electrode surface
•Exits through the counter electrode outlet
•Forms a closed, well-defined flow loop with minimal dead volume
Serpentine Flow Field
•Channel size: 15 × 15 mm
•Channel depth: 1.2 mm
•Enhances mass transport and residence time
•Ideal for kinetics-sensitive reactions and durability tests
Dual Working-Electrode Modes
Standard planar contact mode
Gas diffusion electrode (GDE) mode for gas-involved reactions

Window-Exchange System (Key Differentiator)
The front observation window is fully replaceable, allowing rapid adaptation to different characterization techniques:
Window Material Application
Quartz Optical imaging, UV–Vis
Sapphire In-situ Raman, UV
Kapton (PI) XAFS
Beryllium (Be) In-situ XRD
✔ No redesign of the electrochemical body required
✔ Maintains identical electrochemical geometry across techniques
✔ Ideal for cross-technique data correlation

Materials & Construction
Component Material
Cell body PEEK (chemically resistant)
Structural reinforcement High-purity titanium
Flow plates Precision-machined metal
Sealing Chemical-resistant gaskets
Fasteners Stainless steel
Designed for rapid assembly / disassembly and easy cleaning, even during frequent window changes.

Electrode Configuration
Working Electrode
•Planar electrodes or gas diffusion electrodes
•Compatible materials: Au, Pt, Ag, GC, graphite, carbon paper, custom substrates
Reference Electrode
•Ag/AgCl or Ag⁺
