Non-aqueous Ag/Ag⁺ Reference Electrode

Non-aqueous Ag/Ag⁺ Reference Electrode

Product Description
Shipping & Delivery
The FrankLab Non-aqueous Ag/Ag⁺ Reference Electrode is specifically designed for use in organic solvents and non-aqueous electrochemical systems such as acetonitrile (ACN), propylene carbonate (PC), DMF, DMSO, ionic liquids, and battery electrolytes. It delivers a highly stable potential, excellent reproducibility, and minimal solvent contamination, making it an essential reference for organic electrosynthesis, redox chemistry, battery research, and mechanistic electrochemical studies.
Constructed with high borosilicate glass, chemically resistant components, and a leak-minimized junction, this electrode supports accurate and reliable measurements even in challenging solvent systems.

Key Features

• Designed for Non-aqueous Systems

•This Ag/Ag⁺ reference electrode uses:

A silver wire immersed in Ag⁺ salt (commonly AgNO₃ or AgClO₄)

•A supporting electrolyte (e.g., 0.01 M AgNO₃ in acetonitrile + 0.1 M TBAPF₆)

Ensuring:

•Stable reference potential

•Low drift in organic solvents

•High compatibility across electrochemical windows

Typical potential : +0.29 V vs. Fc/Fc⁺ in ACN (Varies depending on electrolyte & solvent composition)

• High Borosilicate Glass Body

All FrankLab reference electrodes containing glass use premium high borosilicate glass, providing:

•Exceptional chemical resistance to organic solvents

•Low contamination

•High thermal shock resistance

•Durable structure for repeated long-term use

• Low-Leakage Junction

Available with:

•Porous frit (glass)

•Ceramic junction

•PTFE plug (low-leak variant)

Benefits:

•Minimal leakage of Ag⁺ into the test electrolyte

•Reduced drift in low-conductivity organic systems

•Improved reproducibility of voltammetric measurements

• Broad Solvent Compatibility

Stable in:

•Acetonitrile (ACN)

•DMF / DMSO

•Tetrahydrofuran (THF)

•Propylene carbonate (PC)

•γ-Butyrolactone

•Ionic liquids

•Organic battery electrolytes

• Ideal for Organic & Battery Electrochemistry

Applications include:

•Organic electrosynthesis

•Redox chemistry & mechanistic studies

•Ferrocene calibration (Fc/Fc⁺ reference)

•Li-ion, Na-ion, K-ion battery organic electrolyte testing

•Electrochemical analysis in low-dielectric solvents
