Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) — Glassy Carbon / Platinum / Gold Disk (Female Thread / PINE-Compatible)| FrankLab

Product Overview

The FrankLab Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) is designed for high-precision hydrodynamic electrochemical studies, offering excellent reproducibility, mechanical stability, and full compatibility with PINE-style rotators.
With a female-thread interface, this RDE integrates easily into standard rotating electrode systems and provides consistent laminar flow conditions essential for kinetic and mechanistic analysis.

Available in Glassy Carbon (GC), Platinum (Pt), and Gold (Au) disk materials, the FrankLab RDE supports a wide range of applications, including electrocatalysis benchmarking, reaction kinetics, corrosion studies, and surface chemistry research.
Each electrode is built using a highly durable PTFE insulating body and a gold-plated copper terminal to ensure superior electrical conductivity and long-term stability.

Available Disk Materials

1. Glassy Carbon Disk (GC)

Chemically inert and suitable for a wide potential window

Ideal for ORR, OER, HER, CO₂RR, and general electrocatalysis

Excellent surface stability and easy to polish

2. Platinum Disk (Pt)

Highly catalytic and corrosion-resistant

Preferred for HER/OER studies, fuel cell catalyst benchmarking, and standard redox reactions

Performs reliably in acidic and oxidizing environments

3. Gold Disk (Au)

Suitable for SAM formation, thiol chemistry, biosensing, and surface-sensitive studies

Excellent conductor with reproducible electrochemical behavior
