Rotating Ring–Disk Electrode (RRDE) — Glassy Carbon / Platinum / Gold Disk

Female Thread · ALS-Compatible · PEEK Body · Precision Ring Geometry

Product Overview

The FrankLab Rotating Ring–Disk Electrode (RRDE) is a precision-engineered hydrodynamic electrode designed for advanced mechanistic electrochemistry.
Featuring a central disk electrode surrounded by a concentric metal ring, this RRDE enables real-time intermediate detection, selectivity analysis, reaction-pathway tracking, and quantitative kinetic evaluation.

This model is fully ALS-compatible (female thread mounting) and constructed with a PEEK insulating body, providing superior thermal stability (up to 80°C) and chemical resistance for rigorous electrocatalytic studies.

Available in three disk materials—Glassy Carbon, Platinum, and Gold—the FrankLab RRDE meets the demanding requirements of ORR, CO₂RR, EC/CE mechanism studies, organic electrosynthesis, and durability tests.

Available Models

1. Glassy Carbon Disk + Platinum Ring (GC/Pt)

• Disk Diameter: Ø4 mm
• Ring Inner Diameter: Ø5 mm
• Ring Outer Diameter: Ø7 mm
Ideal for ORR, peroxide detection, electrocatalyst screening, EC/CE pathway validation.

2. Platinum Disk + Platinum Ring (Pt/Pt)

• Disk Diameter: Ø4 mm
• Ring Inner Diameter: Ø5 mm
• Ring Outer Diameter: Ø7 mm
Excellent for acidic, high-temperature, and strongly oxidizing environments.
Commonly used for HER/OER, industrial catalyst benchmarking, and kinetic analysis.

3. Gold Disk + Platinum Ring (Au/Pt)

• Disk Diameter: Ø4 mm
• Ring Inner Diameter: Ø5 mm
• Ring Outer Diameter: Ø7 mm
Best suited for SAM formation, thiol chemistry, noble-metal surface studies, organic electrochemistry.
