• Temperature Limit ≤ 50°C

SCE contains mercury; operating above 50°C can cause potential drift and internal pressure risks.

• Never use in non-aqueous solvents

Chloride exchange can produce large potential errors; use via salt bridge if non-aqueous tests are required.

•Avoid oxidizing environments

Strong oxidizers may degrade the calomel system.

• Store in saturated KCl

Maintains junction hydration and prevents drift.

• Complies with laboratory mercury handling standards
