U-Type Glassy Carbon Electrode | FrankLab

For Standard Three-Electrode Electrochemical Cells · High-Purity GC Rod · Corrosion-Resistant PTFE/PEEK Body

Product Overview

The FrankLab U-Type Glassy Carbon Electrode (3 mm) is a precision working electrode designed for routine and advanced electrochemical experiments, including CV, LSV, EIS, chronoamperometry, and electrocatalyst evaluation.

Using a high-purity 3 mm glassy carbon rod embedded in a chemically inert U-type PTFE/PEEK housing, this electrode offers excellent electrical conductivity, wide potential window, and outstanding resistance to acids, bases, and organic solvents.

Its compact U-shaped design ensures easy installation, stable vertical immersion, and compatibility with most laboratory electrochemical cells and electrode holders.

Key Features

High-Purity Glassy Carbon

low background current

Broad potential window in aqueous and non-aqueous electrolytes

Ideal for electrocatalysis, redox studies, and sensor development

U-Type Body for Stable Positioning

Allows the electrode to be fixed vertically in standard cell openings

Prevents electrode rotation or drift during stirring/degassing

Suitable for small-volume cells and microelectrochemistry setups

Corrosion-Resistant PTFE/PEEK Housing

Excellent chemical stability

Easy to clean and maintain

Long service life even in aggressive media

Easy Electrode Surface Renewal

GC rod can be polished with alumina slurry

Regenerates a fresh active surface in minutes
